FG Inaugurates Committee to Prevent ASUU Strikes

The Federal Government has inaugurated an Expanded Negotiation Committee, led by Mahmud Yayale, to prevent potential strikes by academic unions, including the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The committee aims to streamline negotiations across tertiary institutions to ensure a unified and sustainable agreement.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to avoid disruptions in the education sector. The committee, comprising a diverse range of stakeholders, will engage with academic unions collectively to achieve comprehensive resolutions.

The move is part of efforts to establish a structured negotiation framework to address issues proactively and prevent strikes in the future.
