Nigeria Issues Safety Advisory for Citizens in Middle East

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and signed by spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has advised Nigerians residing in the Middle East to remain vigilant amid a volatile situation in the region. The government has prioritized the safety of its citizens abroad and has urged them to limit non-essential movements and strictly adhere to directives from local security authorities.

Nigerians are advised to avoid areas that have been designated as military strategic locations and potential flashpoints. The advisory covers countries including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, with citizens encouraged to exercise heightened vigilance and avoid large gatherings and public demonstrations until stability is restored.

The Nigerian embassy in Tehran is on high alert to provide necessary consular assistance. The government has also called for restraint among parties involved in the conflict and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigerians abroad while supporting diplomatic solutions for regional conflicts.
