Nigeria Warns Citizens in Iran, Gulf Amid Rising Tensions

The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, has issued a statement urging Nigerians living in Iran and neighboring Gulf countries to exercise caution due to escalating tensions in the region. This advisory comes in light of increased military actions, particularly after the United States launched attacks on Iran, which have heightened tensions across the Middle East.

The Nigerian government is closely monitoring the situation and has advised its citizens to remain alert, avoid areas near military sites, limit non-essential travel, and steer clear of large gatherings. Nigerians are encouraged to stay updated through reliable news sources and maintain contact with the Nigerian embassy in Tehran, as well as embassies in Gulf countries including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

The safety of Nigerians abroad remains a top priority for the government.
