Nigeria Issues Security Advisory for Citizens in Iran

On February 28, the Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a security advisory to its citizens residing in Iran and various Gulf States amid escalating military strikes. The advisory, signed by the ministry's spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, emphasized the urgent need for safety precautions.

Nigerians in the affected areas were advised to remain alert and restrict their movements. The ministry also instructed local authorities and Nigerian embassies in Tehran, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia to be on high alert and assist citizens.

The advisory follows a series of strikes reported on February 28, where the United States targeted Iranian cities, leading to visible explosions and smoke in Tehran. The Nigerian government appealed for calm and assured that it would continue to assess the situation and provide updates as necessary.
