Nigeria Warns Citizens in Iran Amid US-Israel Tensions

The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a warning to its citizens residing in Iran, advising them to limit their movements and exercise heightened caution as tensions escalate due to coordinated military strikes by the United States and Israel targeting locations within Iran. The statement, signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, indicates that the government is closely monitoring the evolving volatile situation in the Middle East.

Reports of explosive airstrikes have been heard and seen across parts of Tehran. The Nigerian government has urged its citizens to remain vigilant and avoid non-essential travel within the region until the security situation stabilizes.

Additionally, Nigerians are advised to avoid large gatherings and public demonstrations and to comply strictly with security directives from local authorities. The Ministry also emphasized the importance of staying informed through reliable local and international media to avoid misinformation.

The Nigerian embassies in Gulf countries, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, are on high alert to provide consular support.
