Nigeria Launches Gender Profile and Roadmap to Equality 2030

It aims to reinforce national policies, including the national gender policy and the national women's economic empowerment policy. The initiative is supported by the African Development Bank and UN Women, emphasizing the importance of gender equality as a national issue.

The roadmap also includes the establishment of gender desks across ministries and local government areas, with a focus on empowering women and enhancing community resilience. The minister highlighted the achievements of Nigeria's women programs, which have organized 560,000 women into 26,000 savings enterprise groups, collectively saving 4.8 billion naira for reinvestment in businesses and healthcare.
