Nigeria to Implement End of Life Vehicle Policy to Curb Unsafe Imported Cars

The Nigerian government, led by Joseph Osanipin of NADDC, is taking steps to remove dangerous vehicles from Nigerian roads by enforcing an ELV policy. This move aims to eliminate substandard imports and promote the growth of local vehicle assembly.

The government is also working on passing a long-awaited automotive policy to regulate the importation of used vehicles, ensuring they meet international standards. Public hearings have begun, and stricter regulations will be introduced to improve vehicle safety on Nigerian roads.
