FG Orders Closure of 41 Unity Schools Amid Rising Kidnappings

The Federal Government has ordered the temporary closure of 41 Unity Schools in Nigeria following a surge in student abductions. The directive was issued by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education at the Federal Ministry of Education.

The affected schools span several northern states and reflect the widespread security threats, including terrorist incidents. This move comes amidst growing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in educational institutions across the region.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also canceled a scheduled visit to South Africa and Angola in response to the escalating security challenges.
