FG Prioritizes Public Sector Reforms for Efficiency

The Federal Government of Nigeria is advancing public sector reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency and service delivery. Speaking at the International Civil Service Conference 2026, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo reiterated the administration's commitment to reforming public institutions.

The reforms are designed to simplify government procedures, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, and enhance service delivery across public institutions. Ojo noted that excessive bureaucracy remains a significant obstacle to productive investment and effective governance.

He stressed the importance of embracing innovation to improve the ease of doing business and strengthen investor confidence in Nigeria's public institutions. The minister highlighted that the reform agenda requires proper identification of challenges and strategic planning for implementation to deliver tangible results.

He also emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making and collaboration among institutions to achieve sustainable reform, particularly in areas related to internal security and public administration.
