Nigerian Government Forms Committee to Review Power Generation Companies' Debts

The Nigerian government has established a committee to review and address the debts owed by power generation companies (GenCos) to enhance financial sustainability in the power sector. The committee was announced during the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Association of Power Generation Companies of Nigeria (APGC) in Abuja.

The Minister of Power, Mahmuda Mamman, highlighted the importance of resolving existing debts and preventing future accumulations to sustain the power sector. Various stakeholders, including key government officials and industry leaders, emphasized the need for financial stability to drive Nigeria's energy transformation.
