Nigeria Implements Climate-Smart Livestock Feeding for Emissions Reduction

The Nigerian Ministry of Livestock Development is prioritizing climate-smart livestock production to improve feed systems, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and boost productivity. Six pilot states, including Adamawa, Benue, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau, and the FCT, have been identified for establishing community ranch lands.

The ministry plans to implement large-scale fodder production projects across the country, incorporating solar-powered irrigation and other sustainable practices. Dr.
