FG and States Share N2.3 Trillion Revenue for May 2026

In May 2026, the Federal Government, states, and local councils shared a total revenue of N2.3 trillion, as reported by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press at the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation (OAGF). The Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disclosed that the total gross revenue available for distribution was N3.395 trillion, with deductions for cost of collection amounting to N123.546 billion and total transfer refunds of N971.610 billion.

The statutory revenue distributed was N1.611 trillion, while the value-added tax (VAT) revenue was N688.785 billion. The total revenue received in May 2026 was higher than the N2.378 trillion received in the previous month.

The Federal Government received N818.680 billion, state governments received N759.141 billion, and local councils received N534.277 billion. Additionally, N188.132 billion was allocated as a 13% derivation revenue share among benefiting states.
