Federal Government Sues Senator Nwebonyi for Defamation Against Senator Natasha

The Federal Government has sued Senator Peter Nwebonyi for allegedly defaming Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan. The charges were filed in the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.

Senator Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, is accused of making defamatory remarks on a TV show, including questioning Senator Akpoti Uduaghan's moral character. The prosecution claims the statements were malicious and could incite public hatred.

If convicted, Senator Nwebonyi faces imprisonment or a fine. The charges are based on violations of the Penal Code Act.
