FG Summons PENGASSAN, Dangote Refinery for Emergency Meeting Over Labor Dispute

The Federal Government has intervened in a labor dispute between PENGASSAN and Dangote Refinery by summoning both parties to an emergency meeting. Minister of Labour and Employment, Maigari Dingyadi, announced the meeting to address the escalating crisis that could lead to a nationwide strike.

The government warned of severe economic consequences if the strike proceeds, emphasizing the strategic importance of the petroleum sector to Nigeria's economy. PENGASSAN had earlier issued a directive for a nationwide strike over alleged grievances at Dangote Refinery, prompting the government's intervention to prevent further disruptions.
