Nigerian Government to Host NEC Conference for Inclusive Economic Growth

The Federal Government of Nigeria will host the National Economic Council (NEC) conference in Abuja on February 9-10, 2026. The conference aims to strengthen the country's economy and accelerate inclusive growth across all states.

Key figures such as Vice President Stanley Nkwocha, 36 state governors, and other stakeholders will attend. The theme of the conference, led by Minister of Budget and National Planning Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, is focused on delivering inclusive growth and sustainable development.

The conference, coordinated by Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning Dr. Deborah Oko Odo, will address macroeconomic priorities and encourage economic growth nationwide.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, as the Chair of the National Economic Council, will preside over the two-day summit featuring discussions on fiscal coordination, investment mobilization, and shared development strategies. Additionally, former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu will serve as a special guest of honor, emphasizing the collaboration between the government, development partners, and the private sector to advance economic reforms and the national development agenda.
