Trump’s Letter Acknowledges Nigeria’s Anti-Terror Gains

Trump to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acknowledges Nigeria's significant progress in fighting terrorism and insurgency. During a live broadcast on National Television in Abuja, Enikanolaiye emphasized that the letter validates the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.

He stated that this recognition is not merely commendatory but signifies a commitment from the U.S. to support Nigeria with enhanced skills, tools, and intelligence for national security. Enikanolaiye highlighted recent successes in combating terrorism, including the prosecution of criminals and the rescue of children in Oyo State.

He noted that improved collaboration with the U.S. has led to better intelligence exchange and training. The Minister expressed Nigeria's desire for deeper partnerships in intelligence, equipment supplies, and capacity building, facilitated through the existing Joint Working Group on Nigeria as a Country of Concern.
