FG and UNDP Launch Workshops for Regional Development Policy

The Federal Government of Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), commenced zonal technical validation workshops for the draft National Regional Development Policy (NRDP) 2026-2030 on May 11, 2026. These workshops will take place across six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, aiming to refine the draft policy and collect critical input from stakeholders before its final submission for approval.

The consultations will involve representatives from federal and state governments, regional development commissions, local government authorities, civil society organizations, the private sector, academia, and traditional institutions. The NRDP is designed to provide a comprehensive framework to address regional disparities, unlock economic opportunities, and promote inclusive balanced national development.
