Nigeria Launches Digital Trustmark to Combat E-commerce Fraud

The Federal Government of Nigeria has introduced the National Digital Trustmark (NDTM) to tackle the increasing cases of e-commerce fraud and verify online businesses. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, the initiative aims to establish trust, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria's fast-growing digital economy.

The Digital Trustmark will serve as an official verification seal for legitimate online businesses, promoting fair business practices and reducing online scams. NITDA will oversee the compliance and certification process, ensuring that qualified businesses meet national standards for safety and reliability.

This move aligns with the government's goal to position Nigeria as a competitive hub for digital trade and innovation.
