FG Urged to Implement Policy Frameworks for Digital Media Growth in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has been urged to establish policy frameworks to support the growth of digital media in the country. Dr.

Ernest Ndukwe, Chairman of MTN Nigeria, emphasized the need for policies that promote innovation and regulate the sector to protect public interests. The discussion took place at the recent Africast 2025 conference organized by the Nigerian Broadcast Commission in Lagos.

Ndukwe highlighted the importance of liberalizing the media space to drive the next generation of media infrastructure in Africa. He also addressed the challenges brought by the digital media surge and proposed key policy pillars to address them, including digital infrastructure, smart regulation, digital sovereignty, and local content development.
