FG Warns Against Fake Diplomatic Job Scams in Nigeria

The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has cautioned citizens against falling victim to fake diplomatic job offers that have been disseminated online. The spokesperson for the ministry, Kimiebi Ebienfa, stated that these fraudulent messages falsely claim to offer job openings within the Nigerian diplomatic service, particularly in consular units at embassies abroad.

The ministry clarified that there is no ongoing recruitment for the Nigerian mission abroad and that any messages suggesting otherwise are untrue and part of a scam designed to exploit unsuspecting individuals. It was emphasized that legitimate recruitment processes for the Nigerian foreign service do not occur through random emails or WhatsApp messages, and individuals are advised not to trust such communications.

The ministry's statement was released on a Saturday, reinforcing the need for vigilance among Nigerians regarding these deceptive practices.
