Federal Government and World Bank Empower 80,000 Youths

The Federal Government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has successfully trained about 80,000 Nigerian youths under the IDEAS-TVET training program, aimed at enhancing employability through practical skills. The program was officially launched at the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) in Ilorin, Kwara State, by Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of ARMTI.
This six-month initiative responds to industry concerns regarding the lack of practical skills among graduates. The training encompasses various fields, including agriculture, fashion design, ICT, and more, with participants gaining both classroom knowledge and practical experience in selected industries.
ARMTI managed 200 trainees, while Emmanuel-NIK and Gold Limited and Joephish Global Services Limited each trained 150 participants. Ajagbe Olatubosun, representing the Federal Ministry of Education, emphasized the program's goal of reducing joblessness by empowering youths.
The initiative will also provide beneficiaries with start-up capital and equipment post-training, encouraging them to invest wisely in productive ventures.
