FIFA Confirms DR Congo for 2026 World Cup Play-Off

FIFA has officially concluded Nigeria's aspirations for the 2026 World Cup by confirming DR Congo's inclusion in the inter-confederation play-off tournament. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expressed its discontent by lodging a formal protest, alleging that DR Congo fielded an ineligible player during their decisive match, which ended in a 1-1 draw and subsequently went to penalties, resulting in Nigeria's loss.
