FIFA to Review Infantino's Investment Proposal Amid Criticism

FIFA announced that a review of the withdrawn FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal will be presented to the FIFA Council. This decision follows criticism from Jesper Moller, Denmark's football chief, who expressed concerns over the lack of answers regarding the scrapped project initiated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The FFE proposal aimed to sell a 20 percent stake in the World Cup and other FIFA events to outside investors, which sparked significant backlash from various football confederations, including UEFA, the AFC, and CONCACAF. Discussions about a potential no-confidence vote against Infantino have emerged, with several European national associations withdrawing support for his re-election bid.

Notably, Greek Football Association President Makis Gagatsis and former Germany national team Director Oliver Bierhoff have joined UEFA's call for changes in FIFA's leadership. Despite the opposition, sources indicate that Infantino still has enough backing to secure another term in the upcoming FIFA presidential election scheduled for March 18, 2027, in Rabat.
