Nigerian Filling Stations Slash Petrol Prices Below NNPC and Dangote's Rates Amid Intense Competition

Nigerian filling stations have slashed petrol prices below the rates set by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Dangote Refinery. The price reduction is a result of intense competition in the downstream petroleum market, with some stations selling petrol for as low as N819 per liter, significantly below the N840 per liter set by NNPC.

Habeeb's filling station in Lagos cut its price to N819 per liter, while other stations like Aiteo and Wosbab Shellplux also reduced prices to below N800 per liter. This price war follows recent adjustments in petrol pump prices, with some stations offering rates close to N1,000 per liter.

Dangote Refinery's efficient operations and heavy investments in infrastructure have helped reduce fuel imports and ease pressure on foreign exchange, contributing to the decline in pump prices.
