NNPC Completes River Niger Crossing for OB3 Gas Pipeline

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has announced the successful completion of the River Niger crossing for the 130km OB3 gas pipeline, a project that connects Obiafu in River State to Oben in Edo State. This achievement marks a major milestone in expanding Nigeria's gas transmission network.

The completion of the pipeline, which faced repeated delays due to complex engineering challenges, is expected to transport two billion standard cubic feet of gas per day, significantly strengthening energy availability and enhancing supply reliability. Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC, described this accomplishment as a testament to disciplined execution and technical excellence.

He acknowledged the critical support from stakeholders, including President Bola Tinubu, and emphasized NNPC's commitment to translating Nigeria's oil and gas resources into improved living standards for citizens. The project is part of Nigeria's broader goal to increase oil production to three million barrels per day and gas production to 12 billion standard cubic feet per day by 2030.
