NNPCL Reports Surge in Oil Production Due to Security

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced a notable increase in crude oil production, achieving an average of 1.71 million barrels per day in 2022, with projections to peak at 1.84 million barrels per day by 2025. This growth is credited to the establishment of an integrated energy security model aimed at enhancing pipeline security in the Niger Delta.

Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, disclosed these developments during a parliamentary roundtable on pipeline security held at the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday. He highlighted the success of security arrangements and the absence of accidents, which have restored investor confidence in Nigeria's oil and gas sector.

The event was attended by key figures including Senate President Sen. Godswill Akpabio and House of Representatives leader Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, who emphasized the need for collaboration among agencies to address challenges hindering production growth.
