Fintiri Declares Leadership of APC After Defection

On Monday, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State declared himself the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after officially defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week. During a speech in Yola, he addressed party members, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration to ensure the APC's success in upcoming elections.

Fintiri expressed gratitude towards President Bola Tinubu and Nuhu Ribadu for their support during his transition to the APC. He reassured long-standing party members that their influence would not be undermined and that the focus should be on collective efforts for the party's success.

APC Chairman Idri Shuaibu and other party officials welcomed Fintiri's entry, highlighting it as a significant step for the political landscape in Adamawa State. Mustapha Salihu, the APC national vice chairman for the northeast, also expressed appreciation for Fintiri's move, indicating it would strengthen the party's structure in the state.
