FIRS and French Tax Agency Sign MoU to Enhance Digital Tax Administration

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the French Revenue Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost collaboration in tax administration and leverage advanced technologies for compliance management and taxpayer services. The agreement, described as a strategic step towards strengthening bilateral ties in tax innovation, aims to enhance revenue collection through digital transformation.

The MoU also introduced the establishment of a new entity, the Joint Revenue Board (JRB), following the enactment of the Joint Revenue Board Act in Nigeria. This move aligns with Nigeria's tax reform efforts approved by President Bola Tinubu, signaling a new era of harmonized revenue administration in the country.
