First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Empowers 1,000 Traders in FCT

On [date not specified], First Lady Oluremi Tinubu empowered 1,000 petty traders in Karon Majigi, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as part of an initiative to support livelihoods and reduce poverty. The program, which included the distribution of various empowerment tools such as 39 sewing machines, 13 grinding machines, 35 water pump machines, 45 hair dryers, 16 power chillers, and five tricycle trucks, also provided cash grants of N50,000 to each beneficiary to help expand their small businesses.

Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, announced plans for the construction of a new secondary school in the community, facilitated through a partnership with the FCTA. Mariya Mahmoud, Minister of State for FCT, commended the First Lady's commitment to inclusive empowerment, emphasizing that the program reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda for welfare and empowerment.

Zainab Ibrahim, Deputy National Women Leader of the APC, urged beneficiaries to use the grants wisely, while Farida Suliaman, APC Women Leader in FCT, assured continued support for the community.
