Nigerian Banks Surge in Africa's Top 100 Ranking

Zenith Bank dropped to 20th despite a $600 million increase in Tier 1 capital. Stanbic IBTC recorded the largest jump, moving from 80th to 45th, with Tier 1 capital more than doubling to $735 million from $290 million.
Overall, combined Tier 1 capital among Africa's top 100 banks increased by 23% to $155 billion.
