Political Shake-up as Five PDP Reps and One Labour Rep Defect to APC

In a significant political development, five members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the Labour Party in the House of Representatives defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The defections were attributed to internal crises and divisions within their former parties.

The members who defected include Daniel Asama, Chidi Mark Obetta, Phillip Anayo Owuegbu, Nnaji Nnolim, Deni Agbo, and Matthew Nwogu. The defections further strengthen the APC's majority in the lower chamber.

Speaker Tajudeen Abba acknowledged the defections amidst the ongoing political realignments.
