Flutterwave Celebrates 10 Years as Global Fintech Leader

At Flutterwave's 10th anniversary gala held in Lagos, CEO Agboola announced that the company has become the most licensed non-bank entity globally, operating across 35 countries with 50 licenses. Founded in 2016, Flutterwave has processed over 50 billion transactions, maintaining a reputation for integrity and reliability in financial dealings.

Agboola emphasized the company's mission to expand market access for small businesses and enable seamless cross-border payments, creating opportunities for Nigerians at home and abroad. The event was attended by dignitaries including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and Sierra Leone's Ernest Bai Koroma, as well as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Agboola noted the challenges faced in the payment infrastructure in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, and reaffirmed Flutterwave's commitment to its home base while seeking to extend operations into the U.S., U.K., and European markets. The gala highlighted the potential of Nigerian innovation on the global stage.
