Otti Urges Abia Cabinet to Focus on Development Goals

During a retreat held on Saturday, Abia State Governor Alex Otti urged his cabinet members to concentrate on the development of the state and to remain committed to the "New Abia Agenda." The retreat, themed "Accelerating Progress to Unlock New Opportunities," took place in Umuahia and aimed to align strategies for the state's growth. Otti acknowledged improvements in citizens' living standards due to socio-economic advancements but stressed the need for continued focus on political development as the state approaches the 2026 business year.

He highlighted that no distractions, regardless of their intensity, should derail the collective goals set for Abia. Otti noted that investments exceeding one trillion naira would be directed towards education and healthcare, which are critical sectors for the state's future.

He encouraged cabinet members to view themselves as part of a team, emphasizing that success and failure should not be measured solely by budget outputs but by overall contributions to the state's development. Emmanuel Meribeol, Secretary to the State Government, noted the retreat's importance in rebuilding and sustaining growth in Abia.
