Folarin Balogun Shines with Brace for USMNT in World Cup

Folarin Balogun, a 24-year-old striker born in Brooklyn, New York, scored two goals for the US Men's National Team (USMNT) against Paraguay during the World Cup. Balogun, who has Nigerian parents, moved to the United Kingdom at two months old and has a diverse football background, having played for England's U17 team and represented the Three Lions up to the U21 level.

Despite his ties to Nigeria, Balogun revealed he had not been contacted by the Nigerian Football Federation regarding a potential call-up to the Super Eagles. He expressed that playing for Nigeria was close to his heart but felt he would not be able to secure a starting position over Victor Osimhen.

After his performance against Paraguay, Balogun affirmed that he made the right choice to represent the US, stating it was a dream come true and expressing gratitude for the support from fans.
