ARISE News Anchor Sommie Maduagwu Dies Escaping Armed Robbers in Abuja Tragedy

Somtochukwu "Sommie" Maduagwu, an ARISE news anchor and lawyer, tragically died while trying to escape armed robbers who invaded her Abuja residence on the eve of her 30th birthday. The robbers shot the security guard, Barnabas, before robbing tenants on the lower floors and reaching Maduagwu's flat.

In a panic, she jumped from a height, sustaining severe injuries. The delayed police response due to lack of fuel for their vehicles led to her untimely death.
