Graeme McDowell Qualifies for 2023 US Open at Shinnecock

Graeme McDowell, a former US Open champion from Northern Ireland, qualified for the 2023 US Open, which will take place at Shinnecock Hills in Long Island, New York, from June 18 to 21. McDowell secured his qualifying spot by achieving a score of 69 in both rounds of the 36-hole qualifier.

This will be his first major appearance since winning the US Open in 2010, which granted him a 10-year exemption that ended in 2020. The 46-year-old golfer is also considering rejoining the DP World Tour and participating in the Irish Open and Ryder Cup, while contemplating a breakaway to the LIV Golf Tour.

Additionally, Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin withdrew from the tournament, and Sergio Garcia missed qualifying by two strokes.
