McIlroy Aims for Back-to-Back Masters Titles at Augusta

Rory McIlroy, a 36-year-old golfer from Northern Ireland, is seeking to achieve a rare feat by winning back-to-back Masters titles as the 90th Masters Tournament tees off on Thursday. McIlroy previously won the Masters in April 2022, which marked the end of a 10-year major win drought after he defeated Justin Rose in a playoff.

If successful, McIlroy would join an elite group of golfers, including legends like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Nick Faldo, who have captured the green jacket in consecutive years. McIlroy expressed that winning again would feel a bit easier this time around.

Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler, a two-time Masters winner, withdrew from last month’s Houston Open as his wife is expecting their second child. Additionally, Tiger Woods, a 15-time major winner, will not attend the tournament as he pleaded not guilty to DUI charges stemming from a car crash on March 27.
