Former PDP Candidate Among 5 Killed in Benue Attack, Security Forces Investigate

In Benue, a former PDP assembly candidate and four others were killed in an attack in the Otobi community. The incident occurred around 1:30 am when gunmen stormed the area, shooting indiscriminately and looting food items.

This attack follows a series of violent incidents in the region, with the community becoming increasingly targeted. Security forces, including local volunteer guards, are working to maintain surveillance and patrol to prevent further violence.

Authorities are investigating the incident, with efforts underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice for the victims. Special Advisor to the Benue State Governor on Security, Joseph Har, highlighted the possibility of armed herders being involved in the attack.
