Former River State SSG Responds to Police Over Alleged Assassination Plot

Dr. Danagogo, the former Secretary to the Government of River State, has responded to the Nigeria Police Force regarding his alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate Minister Nyesom Wike.

He informed the police through his legal representatives that he was out of town and unable to honor the scheduled invitation on January 15, 2026. The police's Intelligence Response Team (IRT) had invited Danagogo for questioning in connection to leaked telephone conversations involving Pastor Tombari Joseph Gbeneol discussing an alleged plan to assassinate an Israeli target in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Danagogo's legal team has requested a rescheduling of the interview.
