Femi Olutoye Foundation Screens 150 for Hepatitis B in Ogbomoso

The Femi Olutoye Foundation (FOF) commemorated World Hepatitis Day 2026 by organizing a free Hepatitis B screening for 150 students and staff at Best Legacy College of Education in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. This outreach was part of the Foundation’s Pause for the Cause Campaign, which combined health education with screening to promote preventive practices and early detection of hepatitis B.

Healthcare professionals educated participants on the transmission, prevention, vaccination, potential complications, and the importance of testing for hepatitis B. Many individuals with chronic hepatitis B may be asymptomatic, highlighting the need for testing.

Following the educational session, participants underwent free screening. Those with non-reactive results received counseling on prevention and vaccination, while those with reactive results were given post-test counseling and referrals for further medical evaluation.

Sidiq Taofeeq, representing FOF, stated that the outreach aimed to raise awareness, encourage early testing, and promote timely access to care. Beneficiaries praised the foundation for prioritizing their health needs.
