France Sets Minimum Financial Requirements for Visitors

France's government has published the minimum daily financial amounts that foreign visitors must demonstrate upon arrival, as per the France-Visas official portal. Visitors with confirmed hotel bookings are required to show a minimum of €65 (approximately ₦106,600) per day.

For those arriving without hotel reservations, the required amount increases to €120 (approximately ₦196,800) per day. If visitors have a partial hotel booking, the €65 rate applies for the days covered by the booking, while the €120 rate applies for any remaining days.

Visitors staying with private individuals must present a validated certificate of stay and prove access to at least €32.50 (approximately ₦53,300) per day. Additionally, visitors must hold valid insurance covering all medical costs for their stay, including repatriation, and must provide a return ticket or proof of funds to purchase one.

Professional visitors must carry documents confirming their occupation and intended organizations in France. Certain categories, such as holders of valid French residence permits and spouses of French citizens, are exempt from financial proof.
