Nigerian Banks Warn Customers About Rising Digital Scams During Fraud Awareness Week

Nigerian banks, including UBA, Union Bank, Access Bank, Wema Bank, and fintech firm Palmpay, have initiated a custom alert campaign to educate customers about the rising sophistication of digital scams. The campaign aims to raise awareness during Fraud Awareness Week 2025, advising account holders to stay vigilant against fraudsters.

Recent cyberattacks have led to a freeze on 818 bank accounts suspected of being linked to a N10 billion fraud. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged banks to enhance cybersecurity measures to combat financial fraud.
