Police to Arraign Nnamdi Kanu's Lawyer and Others After #FreeNnamdiKanu Protest

The Nigerian police are set to arraign at least eight individuals, including Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Fineboi Kanu, after their involvement in the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest in Abuja. The protest was organized following the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The police clarified that tear gas was deployed during the protest in line with standard operating practices. Activist Omoyele Sowore has also been advocating for Kanu's release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2021.
