Achraf Hakimi to Stand Trial for Rape Allegation

Achraf Hakimi, the right back and captain of Paris Saint-Germain and the Moroccan national team, is set to stand trial over a rape allegation made by a 24-year-old woman. The complaint was filed in February 2023 in the Val-de-Marne region southeast of Paris.

Hakimi has strongly denied the allegations, asserting his innocence. The trial date has not yet been fixed, but it will be heard in the criminal court of Haut-de-Seine.

Hakimi's lawyer, Fanni Colin, stated that the court's decision does not imply guilt, while the complainant's lawyer, Rachel Flore Pardo, expressed relief and hope for the trial. The woman, identified by the pseudonym Jeann, claimed she met Hakimi via Instagram in January 2023 and alleged that he kissed and touched her without consent before she managed to push him away.

This case has garnered significant attention, especially as Hakimi is part of Morocco's squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
