Enugu West PDP Stakeholders Demand State Chairmanship Return

A crisis has emerged within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as stakeholders from Enugu West demand that the state chairmanship be returned to their zone. This demand was articulated in a communiqué issued after a stakeholders' meeting held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in 9th Mile, Enugu.

The meeting included party leaders, former political office holders, and youth leaders, and was signed by Rt. Hon.

Charl Martin Emenik, the zonal chairman, and Mbah Ugochukwu, the zonal secretary. The stakeholders reaffirmed that the state chairmanship should rotate back to Enugu West, arguing that retaining the office outside their zone undermines the party's established principles of equity and fair representation.

They also rejected the emergence of Hon. Denni Amadi as the PDP senatorial candidate for Enugu West, claiming no valid primary election was conducted.

The stakeholders called on the National Working Committee to review the senatorial nomination process and nullify the purported candidacy of Hon. Amadi, asserting that his nomination was not legitimate according to the party's constitution.
