River State Governor Plans Relocation of Port Harcourt Dumpsite Over Health Concerns

River State Governor Fubara, accompanied by officials from the River State Waste Management Agency, disclosed plans to permanently relocate the Port Harcourt dumpsite situated along the busy Port Harcourt Airport Obiri Ikwerr Road. The current location is described as a health hazard and damaging the state's image.

The proposed alternative site is a burrow pit near Bambo Estate off Eneka Road in Igwuruta Ikwerr Local Government Area. Governor Fubara praised the proactive approach of the waste management agency and assured quick formalization of ownership and infrastructure development for the new dumpsite.
