Governor Fubara Provides Relief for Gas Emission Victims

On Wednesday, November 2025, River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara extended interim relief measures to the residents of Bill Kingdom in Degema Local Government Area, who are experiencing environmental degradation due to gas emissions. During his visit, Governor Fubara reassured the community about their health concerns and reiterated his administration's commitment to finding a lasting solution to the persistent gas emissions affecting their land and water sources.

He announced immediate interventions, including the provision of potable water and essential medical services, and released N100 million in palliative support for the affected community. Although unable to attend in person due to pressing state engagements, Fubara expressed determination to tackle the root causes of the environmental challenges.

Bennet Dokubo, the chairman of the council in Bill Kingdom, praised Fubara's leadership and urged him to address the dangers posed by gas emissions to human health, highlighting the community's distress over the situation.
