Fubara Strengthens Partnership with Nigerian Army in Rivers

On Thursday, Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, affirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing its partnership with the Nigerian Army to safeguard critical national assets and address economic sabotage within the state. This pledge was made during a courtesy visit from Major General Everest Ifeanyi Okoro, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, at Government House in Port Harcourt.

Accompanied by senior military officers and security personnel, Major General Okoro's visit marks his introduction to Rivers State, which is known as the Treasure Base of the Nation. Governor Fubara acknowledged the historical partnership between the Rivers State government and the Nigerian Army, emphasizing its importance during challenging times.

He assured Major General Okoro of the state's support for his new role, highlighting the necessity for joint efforts to protect vital oil and gas infrastructure from vandalism amid current security challenges.
