APC in Rivers State Strengthens Ahead of Bye-Election After Governor's Defection

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State asserts that the defection of Governor Siminalayi Fubara has bolstered the party, enhancing unity and membership across the oil-rich state. The party is gearing up for congresses and primaries ahead of the February 21 House of Assembly bye-election.

Shehu Dang, the Chairman of the Congress Primary Committee for Ahoada East State Constituency II, and Smart Iheanazor, the Secretary of the Delegates Congress Primary Committee for the same constituency, expressed confidence in the party's leadership. Ayoala Peter, the Chairman of the Congress Primary Committee for Khana State Constituency II, highlighted the party's optimism for victory in upcoming elections.

The primaries will involve a voting process supervised by party officials, INEC, and security agencies, with delegates selecting candidates for the bye-election.
