Fubara's Defection Strengthens Rivers APC, Boosts Membership Ahead of Elections

Siminalayi Fubara's defection to the APC has been lauded by the National Working Committee (NWC) panel for strengthening the party in Rivers State. The defection is believed to have provided clearer leadership and a direct boost to membership across the oil-rich state.

The NWC panel conducted delegate congresses and party primaries in preparation for the February 21 House of Assembly bye-elections. Shehu Dang, the Chairman of the Congress Primary Committee for Ahoada East State Constituency II, commended Fubara's leadership for uniting the APC in the state.

Smart Iheanazor, the Secretary of the Delegate Congress Primary Committee for Ahoada East State Constituency II, highlighted the enthusiasm and support shown by residents during the exercise, including open expressions of support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. Ayoala Peter, Chairman of the Congress Primary Committee for Khana State Constituency II, expressed excitement among party members, indicating a positive outlook for the APC in the upcoming elections.

The party conducted ward congresses and constituency elections to select delegates for the primaries, with a focus on transparency and participation.
